1. Save AI outputs where you work

In its September 7, 2026 desktop 1.0.4 update, QwenWork added Save As for task outputs. You can choose a destination folder, then locate the saved file in your file manager.

An output here means a concrete file, such as a spreadsheet, report or presentation. The change is not the arrival of file generation itself: it makes the handoff into your own folders more direct. This is a desktop update involving the local file system; it does not establish an identical feature on the web or mobile app.

2. From a chat card to a file you can keep editing

Suppose AI turns event expenses into a spreadsheet. You still need to add invoice references and send it to a colleague for review. If the result remains just a card you remember seeing in a conversation, you may have to find that task again and work out which output is current.

Save As lets you place the result somewhere familiar, such as an “Autumn event / Budget” folder, and continue in your usual spreadsheet app. It connects generation to subsequent work. It does not verify the numbers or guarantee that successive generated files stay synchronized.

If you switch computers, distinguish files from task history. The desktop guide says desktop task history stays on that device and does not sync between devices. You can transfer a saved result using your own file-sharing or synchronization method; signing in elsewhere alone will not restore that desktop history.

3. Try the full path with a small budget sheet

Download the desktop app and sign in following the desktop guide. Current requirements are macOS 14 or later, or 64-bit Windows 10 or later. Individual users select Personal Space in the organization switcher. The personal-plan page describes plans and credits; check your allowance before assuming a small trial requires a premium subscription.

  1. Start a specific small task. Choose New task and ask: “Make an Excel sheet for these event expenses: venue CNY 800, materials CNY 260, water CNY 90. Include item, amount and a total row. Do not add expenses I did not supply.” This is a suggested trial; the expected total is CNY 1,150.
  2. Inspect the output before revising it. Open its card to preview the result and confirm you have a downloadable spreadsheet. Check the three amounts and total. Ask in the same task for an invoice-reference column if needed, leaving missing references blank rather than inventing them.
  3. Choose the destination. Use Save As on the version you want to keep and select your budget folder. Use the file-location shortcut afterwards to find it in the file manager.
  4. Open it again from that folder. Use your usual spreadsheet app to check the contents and filename before sharing. If AI changes the file later, check whether that new result needs saving too. A file's existence does not mean its contents have been verified.
