The news: keep editing together after generation

On October 16, 2026, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Slides, rolling out to Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access. It generates editable presentations that teams can continue to revise together. Accounts without the entry point may not have received access yet. ChatGPT release notes

Space is where work is stored and organized in ChatGPT. An organization's sharing settings still affect collaboration permissions. Space and organizational sharing

The benefit: put changes on a specific slide

Imagine a small library reporting on a reading-corner renovation. The organizer has purchasing lists, photos of the space and borrowing records, and wants colleagues to check the budget and usage separately. Start with four slides: the problem, spending, observed changes and decisions still needed. Leave missing figures blank and keep estimates clearly marked as estimates.

After generation, colleagues can keep editing the actual content, and the organizer can request a change to one element. Discussion refers to the text and charts in the current deck, reducing the need to clarify which slide someone means. Amounts still need checking against the original purchasing list: a polished layout does not establish that the numbers are correct.

How to use it: make a four-slide report from your material

  1. In Work on the web, attach your material and describe the audience and four-slide structure. You can also begin with a blank slide or template through Space → Create → Slide. For example: “Use only figures in the attachments. Mark unknowns for completion; do not infer the effect of the renovation.”
  2. Open and edit the draft directly, or select an element and use Request edits for a specific change, such as shortening a paragraph while keeping its amounts.
  3. Share according to your organization's permissions. People with edit access can work on the deck simultaneously. Comment-only access is unavailable at launch, so check which permission you are granting.
  4. On the web, export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides. Open the result and check its formatting and numbers before presenting it.
